Tengu USB Toy

Ever heard of the word tengu? Honestly, I have not heard or even seen such a word before. It is supposed to be a Japanese term but I think even if you are a Japanese you may not necessarily know what I am talking about! Well anyways Tengu also means Tian Gou which is how heavenly dogs is pronounced in Japanese or Chinese. Tian means heaven or sky and Gou is the character for dog. So what is this Tengu?

The tengu are a class of supernatural creatures that originated from Japanese folklore. They are also seen in Japanese arts, theaters and literature. They are also known as monster-spirits and are sometimes worshiped as well. Though I have mentioned that they come from Japan, there is some link to the Chinese as well. The tengu is also cited in Buddhism where they are known to be bad demons and warmongers. Later, their images turned from somewhat bad to good, where their image was softened and then they were known to be more protective then destructive. However they were still known to be dangerous spirits of the mountains and forests.

Buddhism

And strangely, though the tengu as I earlier mentioned is supposed to be a dog like picture, the form of the tengu has been drawn as a large, monstrous bird. It is also known to exist in another form, as a weird shaped human with a red face but with an extraordinary large or long nose. I guess it is a cross between the bird and human, and the nose came about due to the big bill of the bird. It is hard to describe here and unfortunately ezine articles does not allow pictures (well it is just an article after all!) These forms of the tengu appear in Japanese picture scrolls, and sometimes even take the form of priests.

Why I am talking about the tengu here is because I would like to introduce to you a usb toy by the name of tengu. Strangely, the creators had originally created a toy which resembled or maybe behaved like a tengu. Subsequently, the toy did not really resemble the tengu, but the creators felt that the name had stuck to the toy and hence did not change the name of this tengu usb toy. So in the end it because known as the tengu. Anyways, the tengu usb toy is just a simple device that is powered by the usb port but which a face shape light up when sounds are heard. This face will lip synch to the sounds that it hears. Apparently in some places this toy was actually sold out!

Two Surefire Tips For Handling Groups of Kids – Love Them Unconditionally and Plan Extensively

When my first born turned five I invited about twenty kindergartners to our home for a party. Because of inclement weather we held the party indoors. Thinking a peanut-in-the-shell hunt would be a great way to keep the kids busy and have fun I carefully hid the peanuts before they arrived. Naively I explained the rules of the hunt to those cute little faces turned up to listen to me and then I pronounced the fatal word, go! Wow did those kids have fun! As for me I ran around catching lamps, saving pictures from being knocked off the wall and keeping children from swinging on my drapes! What a fiasco! Fast forward to 2009 I now have forty years of experience working with kids. I’ve accumulated some tried and true tips I use every time I am in charge of a group of kids. The following two tips work with almost every group every time.

Soccer Tip

Tip one is to love kids unconditionally. Mr. Rogers from PBS’ Mr. Rogers Neighborhood said, “Love isn’t a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun like struggle”. Boy was he right! Every once in awhile, while working with kids, you will find a child in your group who is hard to handle and even more difficult to love. I remember one little boy who was terribly annoying. He disagreed with everything I said, interrupted much of the time and would not follow instructions. I felt terribly guilty that I couldn’t love a four year old! I determined I would love that kid and bring him back from the dark side before the end of the year. I struggled for several weeks to praise him no matter how small his effort. A couple of months later this little guy actually became one of my favorites.

Tip two is to extensively plan. If you don’t the children will make up their own plan which will probably include things like chasing each other, knocking over chairs, whining, tattling and a headache-yours of course! Last winter thirty people came to my home for appetizers. Eleven of my guests were children from age’s four to ten. A week or so before they arrived I sat down with a piece of paper to outline the events of the afternoon much the same as a football coach planning for the big game. I tried to visualize what the guests would be doing and how they would be moving around my house.

I made a detailed list of events from arrival to departure. I knew the adults would be OK but what would the kids be doing? I researched the net finding many helpful web sites for age appropriate activities. The suggestions were easy, fun and affordable. I chose a few ideas. Because of the large group, I also thought through how best to use the rooms in my house. The big day arrived. I set up a table filled with a variety of craft items I bought at the dollar store. Downstairs there was a soccer table, bean bag chairs, a WII, an egg chair and another small table for crafts. When the kids arrived they quickly made friends. The boys gathered around the WII to play virtual games and the girls worked on simple crafts that didn’t need adult supervision.

Even though my plans went well the families stayed longer than expected for which I did not plan. However, over the years, I’ve learned to be flexible. It paid off because the children themselves came up with an excellent idea of something to do for which they politely asked my permission. They were happy for another hour and by this time their parents were ready to leave. Everyone had a good time. Hint: be sure to include in your plan a few more activities than what you think you might need-just in case.

In conclusion, using these two tips; loving unconditionally and planning extensively, can give you fun times with kids that will leave both you and them looking forward to the next time. You will have the added pleasure of feeling satisfied with a job well done-which is a lot better than a headache!

Can You Beat Online Casinos?

Casinos stay in business because in the long run they always win. This is the golden rule of gambling and is due to what is known as the House Edge.

Put simply, the House Edge is the percentage of bets taken by the casino that it expects to keep. So, for example, in a game like Blackjack, which has a house edge of around 0.6%, the casino expects that for every £1,000,000 it takes in bets it will keep £6000. That may not seem much, but that percentage is always working in the casino’s favour – and the longer you play, the more they win.

Baccarat

Even with short terms fluctuations where individual players will be ahead, overall the casino’s profits will be roughly at the level of the house edge. Different games have different edges, but one thing is for certain – none of them are in the player’s favour!

Except for the games at one casino.

Betfair casino’s Zero Lounge offers four games (Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and Video Poker) with NO house edge. In other words, they expect to win nothing from those games overall.

It sounds strange, but it’s completely true. The Betfair website states that the expected return to player (ie the payout rate) is 100% to 2 decimal places, when the games are played with optimal strategy.

A 100% payout rate means that the odds of winning or losing are the same as betting on the toss of a coin – you can expect to lose and win nothing over the long term, but in the short term you can get ahead.

In fact, since it launched the Zero Lounge, Betfair has made a loss in many of the countries where the games are played. In Greece, for example, they lost almost £30,000 and calculated a payout rate of 100.02%!

So how can Betfair allow this to happen, when every other casino is looking for more and more ways to increase the advantage in their favour?

A look at the Betfair statement gives us a clue as to how the Zero Lounge works. Betfair are generous, but they’re not stupid! Optimal player strategy is what you need to take advantage of the 100% payout. How many players play with an optimal strategy? Not many, and Betfair know this. Most players will go to the Zero Lounge, looking to get one over on the casino, but without a proper understanding of the games. In those cases, the player’s strategy will result in the house edge being tipped back in the casino’s favour – only a little, but enough to make the difference.

But that phrase ‘optimal player strategy’ intrigued me.I realised that these strategies must be practical, not purely theoretical, so that playing completely within the rules of the games, you could get the house edge down to 0.

I then studied each of the games in detail. Although Betfair make things slightly difficult by, for example, placing tight limits on the maximum and minimum bets in Roulette, or rounding up the commission (vigorish) in Baccarat, I found that I could nullify the casino’s advantage.

One great feature of the Betfair site is that you can play all the Zero Lounge games for free – perfect for when you’re trying to perfect a strategy to beat them!

In summary, then, I’ve devised an optimal player strategy for each of the Zero Lounge games. Some are very simple, others a little more complex, but all of them give you that unique opportunity to beat the casino at its own game!

They’re worth taking the time to study but don’t forget you can play for free until you feel confident in my strategies and want to take the plunge and play for real.

And to make that decision a little easier, Betfair will give all new customers £5 free as a way to test them out before you commit. You don’t have to make a deposit, just sign up and they’ll give you the £5 straight away.

Free money and a casino where you can win. All in all, sounds like the perfect casino!

So come to Fortune Palace, study our strategies, practice them for free at Betfair, then sign up and get your free fiver.

Why not? For once, you’ve really got nothing to lose!

Track Lighting Kits – Which Sort Should You Buy?

So you want a track lighting kit do you? Have you give much thought to what type to go for? The thing is, there really is such a large range of kits you can choose from that it becomes difficult to make a decision and ultimately you can end up being flustered and stressed out.

Lamp

If you buy one of these track lighting kits, you will benefit from the fact that they are a superb way for you to make your own impression in the room – be it a kitchen, dining room table area or even an office meeting room or board room. All you need to do is decide what sort of look you are trying to achieve.

When you get your track lighting kit, everything comes with it you will need from installation through to design and style.

Usually, the track lighting kits will contain some or all of the following components:

- Low voltage options

- Insulated cables.

- The lights themselves – these could be LED lights or Halogen dichroic lamps.

- Transformers, with flexing and plug.

- Adjustable arms to allow you to position things just as you would like them.

- Anchor plugs

- Spare bulbs

- Fixtures and fittings

- Optional items like spare colored glass, spare fuses

- Instructional guides for fitting.

You can decide on a suspended kit that uses a wire length suspended between 2 points in a room (often called a Trapeze kit) or you can opt for the most widely used fixed track version.

With Trapeze kits you can place the wires anywhere to suit your needs, and even move the lights along the wire accordingly whenever the mood takes. Just imagine you have to work at a computer at night but then need the light to illuminate another area during the evening.

This can all be achieved quite easily with track lighting kits.

Other kits contain the latest in fashion, the LED lighting systems. These allow you to have stunning bright light sources to add a really strong sense of modernism to a room. These kits can be fixed or flexible. They will use a length of flexible wire that can be wrapped around steel frames in the center of a room, or any other permutation you can think of.

Whatever you want, a track lighting kit can give you a solution. They are flexible and adjustable to suit your needs.

Can Feng Shui Help Someone Who Does Not Believe In It?

In the same way that the human race has been experiencing the effects of gravity before we even understood what gravity is, all people and animals on this planet experience Feng Shui whether they know it or not. And as an extension of that, a person who does not believe in the principles or applications will still benefit, in spite of their non-beliefs.

As a consultant who has advised many families and work forces, there are often one or more persons included in the analysis who does not know that these measures are being done on their behalf. And there may even be someone who is specifically opposed to it or just uninterested. In fact, sometimes these folks get the most spectacular results and they always provide the best “blind” case studies.

Buddhism

Even after thirty years of exposure in the Western world, many Americans still think this is a belief system, generated out of Buddhism or Taoism and that it is exclusive or only relevant to Asian culture. I’ve even had my race questioned before being hired, because some people have perpetuated the notion that you have to be Chinese in order to practice this metaphysical discipline. This makes about as much sense as thinking you have to be American to play jazz music.

As a comparison, I was once asked in an interview if there is any down side to someone believing in Feng Shui. Can too much knowledge be harmful? I don’t think so, although some people end up forgetting that we still have some Free Will. Feng Shui does not cause everything to happen. In fact, some clients are disappointed that they cannot blame certain problems they are having on the their environment. You don’t want to take all the good information available and then have it paralyze you to not act and enjoy life. In fact, there is a new medical term called “ortho-rexia” and it describes people who have an unhealthy obsession with eating healthy. So, no sensible teacher or practitioner wants to see their student or client suffer from “Feng-rexia” which might be the unhealthy obsession with trying to balance every area all the time.

The only reasonable advantage a “believer” might have over a “non-believer” is that the person who is positive may notice some subtle changes that a “non-believer” will not notice or acknowledge. This can help a person fine-tune their own remedies. The remedies can sometimes be subtle or work slowly over time, and like a scientist who takes note of all the variables in their experiment, someone who is positive about will probably have an easier time correlating cause and effect since they have a vested interested in paying attention.

Opaque Projector – What Exactly is It?

The opaque projector is a relatively old device that is commonly known by many different names including episcope and epidiascope. It is used for the purpose of displaying opaque materials. This is done with the use of a brightly shining lamp that shines light onto the opaque object from above.

Lamp

Here, it is essential to point out that the projector itself is loaded with a unique network of mirrors, imaging lenses and prisms that are used in combination in order to get the right focus of the image. The object is then displayed on a conventional screen.

The thing you need to understand is that an opaque projector requires bulbs of much greater intensity. This is because they need to project the light that will be reflected off the opaque object. Similarly the lenses embedded in this type of a projector are larger in comparison to overhead projectors.

One of the biggest issues to be mindful of with this type of projector is the level of heat that the high intensity bulbs will be producing. It is important to take care that the heat that is being generated does not cause problems in the reading of the objects and furthermore does not cause any damage.

What are these types of projectors used for? Basically they are used to display the images of drawings, book pages, leaves, mineral specimens and other objects of this nature. Many artists even make use of opaque projectors in order to enlarge small subjects that they wish to draw with utmost detailing. The reflected image can be projected directly onto the canvas or any other drawing surface. Similarly, these projectors can be used during lectures and seminars. Today you will be able to find them in the overhead model as well which adds convenience for users.

2006 Home Sellers Energy Inefficiencies Can Sour Buyers

Do’s

–Provide the last three months electric and natural gas/heating oil bills. Buyers appreciate pro-active sellers providing these costs without asking. Buyers can usually can energy history from utility companies.

Lamp

-Be honest about how you set the temperature in your home. If you blast your furnace for a new baby or practice conservation let buyers know. Disclose that you have turned the thermostat down on the hot water or pool heater too.

-If you have your pool opened up for showings and have a solar cover, let buyers know. Pool energy costs are a second-tier energy expense to buyers.

-Install a programmable thermostat if you don’t already have one. Buyers look for this telltale sign of energy-awareness .

–Make readily available manuals from energy star appliances (appliances that significantly exceed the minimum national efficiency standards). Save yellow energy use labels from furnaces, hot water heaters and appliances.

-Inform buyers that you have solar-energy systems. Buyers might miss these systems while taking in other features of your home on their first visit.

-Disclose active or abandoned buried oil storage tanks. Most state residential property disclosure laws require sellers to inform buyers of the location, size and age of tanks.

-Display furnace and air-conditioning service histories. Buyers love to see maintenance records.

-Verify that all radiators valves work properly. Buyers love the even heat from this old system but want to know that they can control heat levels. Buy radiator valve keys at the local hardware store.

-Provide receipts from recent insulation or window replacement projects. Highlight special features such a double glazing and low-e coatings.

-Reports from energy audits on your home completed by your utility company.

Don’ts

- Forget to replace your furnace filter once a month. Home inspectors and home shouldn’t discover filthy filters. Ditto water filters in your refrigerator and sink. Check dryer and range-hood filters too.

-Cover windows and doors with plastic sheeting. Buyers want to see views and use doors on property tours. Plastic coated windows looks like a energy band-aid. Boomers remember the coated couches and lamp shades.

-Pile straw bales around the foundation. Buyers consider this a quick fix for problem crawlspaces.

-Close all the blinds to save air-conditioning costs when showing your home. You won’t sell your house if it is dark and closed up for property showings or buyers have to fumble in the dark for lights.

-Remember to vacuum floor vents and ventilation supply ductwork. Many a homebuyer has moved-on from pet-hair tumbleweed coming from the bowels of a heating system.

-Leave exhaust vents running in bathrooms and kitchens during home showings. They suck the heat out and appear wasteful to buyers.

-Neglect covering window air-conditioners in the off season. Drafty air-conditioning units aren’t a selling plus and emit outside noises . Don;t forget to clean filters on window units.

-Ignore installing storm windows during heating season. Buyers need to see that you have storm windows for maximum heat retention. Make the screens visually available. Buyers always ask about them and sometimes verify the number matches window and door count.

-Disregard build up of dust on refrigerator and freezer coils. Move appliances out and vacuum before listing your home . Mr. and Ms. clean-obsessed buyer might question overall home maintenance at a home inspection if they discover excessive debris around refrigerators and freezers.

Now that your course is developed and all set to go you can begin to get the word out. Make a list of all the schools or daycare centers in your area ( This would depend on what age group you are targeting) Then approach the principle and ‘sell’ him or her on the course first. Then get a list of all the parents contact details. Either call them up directly or mail them a sales letter or flyer detailing your service. You could also put up posters in the school foyer and place pamphlets on the reception counter as well.
